Managing Partner at Tersus Environmental

Gary is a founder and Managing Partner of Tersus Environmental, LLC based in North Carolina and Director of Tersus Environmental Limited based in Ireland. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University and holds registrations as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina, Virginia, and Florida. Gary has over thirty-five years’ experience in the development and implementation of technologies for in-situ remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. Well-known for his contributions to soil and groundwater remediation, he has worked on projects in North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. He is also an author of several U.S Patents for remediation of soil and groundwater.

Jan Haemers

Chief Executive Officer at Haemers Technologies

Jan holds M.Sc. degrees in mining engineering (ULB – Brussels), geological engineering (ENSG – Nancy) and hydrological engineering (ULg – Liège). He also holds a business administration degree (Solvay Business School – Brussels) and International Executive Pro- gram (INSEAD – Fontainebleau). He has been working in soil remediation since 1991.

After he founded the company now called SUEZ Remediation (1993), he created his own company Deep Green in 1999, dedicated to thermal treatment. In 2001, he acquired the    US subsidiary TPS Technologies Inc. and focused on Research and Development of new processes. In 2010 he introduced gas-fired burners technology to the market, and is the main inventor of more than 15 patented     and patent pending in situ thermal desorption technologies. Jan lectures soil remediation at various universities and engineering schools in Europe.

Miles Stumbaugh

Vice President of Operations

Miles has over 30 years of experience in the environmental remediation industry, of which 19 years focused in the ISTR remediation market. During his ISTR career, Miles has worked as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Client Manager as well serving as an Operations Manager for the European Division of a leading provider of thermal and PFAS remediation services.

Miles has made contributions to many design, construction, instrumentation and operational improvements that are employed today. He has directly supervised the installation and operations of multiple ISTR remediation systems throughout the United States, as well as sites in Belgium, France, Germany, and Scotland. He also brings extensive staff, subcontractor and teaming partner management experience and the ability to navigate the requirements for remediation projects.
